Top 5 Actionable White Hat SEO Strategies
1. Disavow Toxic Links
Monitoring your link profile is a very important step when it comes to SEO. Especially when your websites are getting popular, many other webmasters and spammers will link to your website.
Among those links, there are good links and there are toxic links. In order to identify toxic links, you can use Moz’s Open Site Explorer. Or if you feel cheap, you can go to Google Webmaster Tools/Search Console, and download the spreadsheet that contains website pages linking to your site. From there, you can go through each link to identify which links you think can/will hurt your website.
Identifying bad links should be done regularly, but so many webmasters out there only take such action when their website got penalized.
After you have identified links that you want Google to ignore. First, you need to contact their webmasters, and ask them to remove the links. If they don’t respond to your request, you can then use Google’s Disavow Tools to block those links.
Of course, if your website is already penalized, you will also need to file the reconsideration request form.
There are still many “SEO Experts” out there blindly believe SEO is all about links. The more backlinks you have, the higher your website will be ranked. Yes, 10 years old, it used to be true, but not anymore.
I am not saying backlinks are dead or completely useless. It really depends on the quality of backlinks; they can help you but they can also hurt you.
Building links is not all about linking to related websites anymore; you also need to identify if the website that you link to is surrounded in the good neighborhood; in other words, is the website has a good link profile as well.
3. Early Adopter to Google Ranking Factor
There are some rumors out there saying SEO is dead. Now, maybe your form of SEO had been dead, such as spamming, but not in the general term of SEO.
SEO is different than it used to be; it is evolving and it is changing everyday; the SEO tactic you think that works today might not work tomorrow.
In order to compete with others, you need to become the early adopter to Google ranking factors. Every once in a while, Google will announce new ranking factor. If you want to stay on the top, you will need to know it, and then implement such ranking factor.
I like one of Bruce Lee’s quote, “Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do.” When it comes to SEO, we must take action.
4. Behavioral Analytics
Analyzing user behavior is very important when it comes to how well your website is doing. Depending what your goals are, there are many things you can do to track user behavior on your website, such as how long in average that users are staying on your website, where they have clicked and how often, etc.

Google tag managers is directly connecting to your Google analytics account, so once you have setup at Google tag managers, the data will seamlessly transfer over to Google analytics for you to analyze.
5. Social Channels
Social media is a part of SEO. and it is considered to be one of the top ranking factors. So, you want to make sure you have a good standing in some of popular social media networks, such as Twitter, Facebook, and Linkedin.
Some of things you do not want to do when it comes to social media is fake. For example, fake followers, fake likes, and fake views. If you think you are smart by buying thousands of fake likes without being noticed, you are still hiding in the cave. Most big companies have the technology that can identify all those fake activities. You might be lucky today, but you will be caught eventually.
Additionally, Social media is the internet vehicle that makes engagement with potential prospects easier. You should use social media, but not be used by social media.
