Be personal and authentic
In order to stand out among millions of tweets and updates every day, you have to do things differently. People or businesses that are successful with social media use it as a platform to build unique, personal relationships with their customers. Make sure to reach out to your potential customers, answer their questions, or send personalized messages.
If you are looking to stand out in the social media world, you have to be willing to invest the time and efforts to publish useful tweets and updates. Respond to other people’s questions/comments, or engage with them. Most people are too lazy to respond to tweets. But if you do this, other people will notice you and your business. Next when they have questions, they will come to you.
The best way for individuals or small businesses to stand out on social media is to take a visual approach. Images catch our attention, keep our attention and are digested faster than text. Images take up more real estate on social media newsfeed, so combine this with your own unique branding and perspective, and you will be able to catch your audience’s attention. Also, make sure to use consistent colors, fonts, photo filters and/or logos.
Know your audience
This is the most critical thing to do first. Talking to your customers/prospects, understand their needs, wants and desire as a group. Once you understand your audience, you can tailor your social media campaigns based on what you know about your customers and get more leads.
Be where your customers are
When deciding which social platform to be on, consider two things: where your customers are and where they are likely to go next. Then create a presence there, and stay ahead never hurts.
With nearly 1 billion websites and several billion people on social media, it can be a challenge to stand out. However, it doesn’t have to be hard. Small businesses can definitely make it happen if invested in time and efforts. Research your marketplace, and your competitions. Figure out your competitors’ weakness and fill in that gap by curating or creating content for it. For just a moment, forget your business goals, forget about selling. Just be helpful and don’t ask anything in return. Use your expertise to help people solve their problems and you are not just standing out, you are delighting the people you are helping, and this has more memorable effect.
