My Favorite Top 10 Free SEO Tools

Now, ask yourself, how much do you really spend on SEO tools each month? Maybe over $100? $500? or even thousands?

In the world of SEO, some services and tools are common expenditures, such as proxies service, backlinks creation tools, video making tools, domains hosting, and list goes on. Of course, they are worth it if they can generate positive ROI. However, not a lot of online marketers can do that. Especially, if you are just starting out, you might lost your investment.

Among many SEO tools and marketing stuffs, some of them might be necessary, such as website hosting. However, many are replaceable. For instance, you do not have spend a certain amount of money on tools that perform some basic SEO. If you spent some time and researched a bit, you will find out there are many SEO tools out there that you can use for free.

1. Google Keyword Planner

I like this tool a lot, and use it every day. If you asked any online marketer the question of which is the most important step when doing marketing campaign, almost all of them would tell you that it is keyword research. This is a very useful tool for on Page SEO. Basically, after you launched the software and enter your website url. Within few minutes, the software will scrawl all inner page urls and basic SEO information for you. After that, you can export it to Excel; from there, you can do future analysis and improve your website pages. Screaming Frog comes with the free and the paid version, but the free version has almost all functionality that you will need. This is by far my favorite website to check amount of backlinks that my website has. The report only displays how many backlinks that you website are getting and losing each day.  Ahrefs comes with the free and the paid version. If you just want to check how many backlinks your website has, the free version will do. On the other hand, if you want do competitors analysis, the paid version is the better option. Within few minutes, Majestic SEO will provide you a simple summary report that displays how many external backlinks your website have, as well as backlinks to each pages. Of course, this also comes with the free and the paid version. With the free version, you only get a limit amount of information.

9. Google Trends

Google Trends SEO tool

Ok, I lied; actually this is another powerful and cool tool that you should utilize. It is very important to follow the trends when you are doing online marketing. Everything you do need to be up to date. You surely do not want to work on something that is not popular anymore.

10. IFTTT

ifttt seo tool

The last but the least: IFTTT. At first, it might seems a bit hard to setup and use, but when you actually use it, you will realize how easy the tool is. Let me tell you, IFTTT can save you tons of time and energy. You just have to setup once, everything will be automatic. For example, if you want to retweet a tweet that contain certain keyword phrase, you can just setup once and do that automatically. Now, how cool is that? The best of all, it is free to use. Of course, the possibilities are limitless with this tool.

What I think:

Now, of course, there are still many other powerful tools that I might not aware of yet. However, with those tools, I am pretty overwhelm. I don’t know about you, but I think it is not matter of how many tools that you know or use, it is all about how effective you are using a certain tool that matters. If you know a certain tool that saves you a huge amount of time, please share with us!

For me Google analytics is the be all and end all of tracking- no other tool comes close although Majestic SEO doesn’t exactly do too bad for links and competitor research
