Twitter is one of the most popular social media platforms. Believe it or not, I used to think Twitter is a big wasting time for marketers, because everything on Twitter is moving ultra fast. You are just one of the millions fishes in the ocean; no one is going to notice your tweets.

Now, I realize the ultimate value on Twitter is engagement. Twitter is a very powerful way of getting brand exposure if you know how to engage the right targeted audience. Otherwise, it doesn’t matter how many Tweets or followers you have, you are just wasting your time there. Also make sure to measure your social media performance.

In this post, I will share the top 10 tweeting techniques that you can implement to improve your engagement.


1. Keep Tweets Between 120 Characters to 130 Characters

It used to be the best practice to keep tweets under 110 characters; after the introduction of the Quote Tweet, it is no longer necessary. However, it is still a good habit to keep characters between 120 to 130.

2. Right Time to Tweet

Tweets are moving fast on Twitter; if you want your tweets to be seen by your audience, tweet during their daytime hours. Also, Saturday and Sunday usually have higher engagement rate, because people are less busy during their weekends.

3. Be Visual

One picture is worth a thousand words. It is especially true on Twitter. Instead of typing a long tweet, try to mix with a picture/infographic. Most people online like to see pictures.
